Osaka is one of those common Japanese restaurants, like the common Chinese takeout except the common Japanese restaurants are nice places to sit down and eat.  Unlike Chinese take out restaurants which make family style portions, Japanese restaurants usually just make portions for one person.  Everyone orders their own food.  This also isn't the only Osaka in Queens.  There is another Osaka in Astoria, and while their menu, price and quality are almost equal, they are not owned by the same people.  They are two separate Japanese restaurants.  Osaka is pretty decent in my book.  It's a good place to eat with family and/or friends, and cheap and filling.  Like Chinese takeout restaurants, common Japanese restaurants have a variety of things to choose from.  Their menu includes katsu, teriyaki, donburi, udon and/or soba, tempura and of course, sushi and sashimi.  Staff are usually friendly.

I basically ordered vegetable tempura to start, and then had Tonkatsu (pork cutlets), that came with rice and miso soup.  I forgot what my friend ordered but she chose the salad. The food was enough to stuff me that I took home the cutlets and didn't order dessert, but they usually give a small plate of cut up fruit to end your meal.

Vegetable Tempura- Pretty good, not bad.  Anything is delicious in tempura batter, and I haven't had bad tempura yet (and hope not to)

Miso soup- comforting.  Miso soup is another I have yet to have a bad experience with.

Tonkatsu- It's basically just pork cutlet but does has a bit of a different taste considering it's made with panko crumbs.  It's good and decent.  It comes served with tonkatsu sauce on the side and rice.  There is never enough rice for the katsu, considering they give you good sized cutlets.  It's only good for one cutlet but it didn't matter.  I usually only finish one, and take the other home considering I'm full from eating an entire vegetable tempura appetizer by myself.  Unfortunately I didn't take a picture of this one, but no biggie, just think pork cutlet!

Below are the pics, and also my friend's salad.

So come on down with family and friends, enjoy a nice, calm meal of your choice.  I mean come on, good food, cheap prices, nice staff.
I apologize for not having any sushi or sashimi, at the time of visit I wasn't ready to go into that food area, I was...well still am, getting over my pickiness.  Although now I'm starting to get used to it so I promise that soon you'll see more stuff.
